Friday the 21st of November was a first for Ashton golf Club,
Junior Prize Night became the training ground for six new Catering assistants
5 Waiters and a "work experience" pot washer. Charlie and Sandra Qualters , John and Jackie Dawber, and Sue Grainger were fantastic at Waiting on the tables of the 60 people sitting down to eat.
Dressed like the team from Café Rouge. Our guys and girls set out so organised guided as always by the maître de, Ian. Until the Dessert was ready to be served! Then all hell broke loose Sue Grainger was like a bullet flying loose around the tables, Charlie looked lost and Sandra had another drink, Jackie so poised and looking good in her French maids outfit, (which she has had for years at home) and John who was a dead ringer for Manuel from Fawlty Towers.
But in the Background Behind the scenes Far away from the public eye, the real work was being carried out by non other than our Professional himself, Mr Colin Boyle. Colin was in the kitchen slaving over the dishes, for the first hour he thought he had it made- just the odd spoon or so to clean! Then the dinner plates came back in, and Collin really had to work hard to keep up with them. 200 dishes, side plates, soup bowls and various pans later Colin had only broken 1 plate and cut his finger only once his pinny was wet-through but he survived. Hey Folks it was a great night and the Team put there wages for the evening toward the Lady Captains charity and with Tips and a small contribution from Ian We raised £100.
WELL DONE THE TEAM!!
Thanks to everyone who came and supported our Junior prize night and thanks to Alison, Janet and Ian for cooking the meal.
